When we made the decision to establish a new 787 Final Assembly and Delivery site, our foremost objective was to strengthen Boeing’s long-term competitiveness and protect our ability to deliver on the promises we make to our customers. We took into account the business environment, logistics, and infrastructure at several locations around the country, and concluded that South Carolina was the most attractive choice.
From the beginning, South Carolina has demonstrated its commitment to provide a business environment where Boeing, its suppliers and the community can succeed and grow.
We are grateful for the partnerships we enjoy in South Carolina, and benefit daily from the enthusiastic support we receive. Without state and local support, we would have never been able to stand up a state-of-the-art facility in just 18 months – a significant accomplishment by any measure. South Carolina bet on Boeing, and Boeing bet on South Carolina - and we’re both winning.
